What is 100in1Day?

100in1Day is a global festival of civic engagement that is coming to Hamilton for the first time this year. On Saturday, June 6th, 2015, over 100 urban interventions will take place across the city.

What is an urban intervention?

Urban interventions are simple, low-cost ways for people to showcase their ideas for a better city, stronger community, or more resilient neighbourhood. Think pop-up parks, collaborative art activities, giant board games, temporary bike lanes, or beautification projects. Anyone can participate, and the possibilities are endless!

What are the benefits?

100in1Day promises to benefit the community by promoting active citizenship, reclaiming urban spaces, creating positive change, and allowing Hamilton to imagine what is possible.

Who is the Workshop For?

The workshop will be open to the public and is for anybody who may be interested in hosting or helping to create an urban intervention on Kenilworth Avenue for the 100in1Day Festival. Don’t have an idea for an intervention? No problem! The workshop will help you create one. You will also develop resources for your intervention and find others to work with.

Why Kenilworth?

Kenilworth had once been a vibrant commercial district, along-side other streets in the neighbourhood. We believe that even modest efforts to now help improve the street will go a long way to bringing that vibrancy back to the street and to the entire neighbourhood!
